Bryan Brassard is now in his 3rd year as an Administrator for Vidor ISD where prior to his
administration career, he was the Head Choral Director at Vidor High School for 12 years
where he grew the choral program from 85 students to an enrollment of 260 students, mixed
between 4 performing groups and a world music class. Bryan graduated from Lamar University
in Beaumont with his Bachelors and Masters Degree. Under his direction the performing choirs
consistently received sweepstakes, superior and excellent ratings in the UIL Concert and Sight-
reading competitions. Yearly Vidor High School Choirs placed students in the Region 10 All-
Region Choir with students competing all the way through area auditions and a student earning a
place in the Texas All-State Women’s Choir. Before Bryan joined administration, with the help
of other choir directors from the Region, he created a Choral Collaboration Concert where Vidor
High School Choir Students, Nederland High School Choir Students and Liberty High School
Choir Students joined forces to perform a major choral work. This Collaboration Concert helped
grow each individual choral programs. This continued for 2 years before COVID-19 put a hold
on the Concerts.
Mr. Brassard has a proven track record of leadership. Bryan is the current TMEA Region 10
Vice President and has just finished a 10 year stint as the TMEA Region 10 Vocal Secretary. He
was Fine Arts and Foreign Language Department Head for 5 years and sat on the Vidor High
School and Vidor ISD Site Base Committee.
Bryan began working at St. Jude Catholic Church in 2001 where he started as the Teen Choir
Director and in the years following became the Music Coordinator for the entire parish. He
oversees 5 different performing groups and conducts 2 choirs. He became the conductor of the
highly esteemed St. Jude Chorale, which was created by Dr. Randy Babin, when he stepped
down and the choir continues to sing at Sunday Masses as well as special Masses. Also at St.
Jude Bryan conducts and sings on a regular basis at the 11:30am service and is the Handbell
Director for the church which plays at normal Masses and for other special occasions.
Early in Bryan’s life he joined Beaumont Community Players as a performer on stage. Since
those early years, he has since been a director of musicals, been vocal director for at least 10
musicals and directed full orchestras for over 15 musicals. He is currently the Director of the
Christmas musical, “The Elf” at Beaumont Community Players.
Bryan lives in Lumberton with his wife, who is also a musician and singer, of 14 years
and they have two four legged children.
